“I saw a picture of Hasil Adkins playing one, actually it was an earlier version from the ’50’s with the aluminum Harmometal binding and I thought wow what a cool looking guitar!

I found mine at The Fret Mill in Roanoke VA back in the early 90’s. Just walked in and there it was - $350 cash on the barrelhead!

I dig the swanky black tuxedo look with the primitive cool P13 pickups. Those P13’s look like they were made in high school metal shop but they sound like a million bucks!

I’ve played it on lots of recordings. I believe the first was “She’s My Witch” off “Zombified” and the last was “Polka Dot Dress” off of “At Home With”. The guitar has a nice smokey tone with a little cut that sits nice in a mix to me.

Mary always thought it a bit dark. She would say “Rick that guitar might be black but it has the sound of brown!” Nuff said!”
